A Little Bit About Blue Diamond Family Pups!

We are the Burkholders, Dean and Esther, and five beautiful children living on a 10-acre mini farm. We have beef cattle, a cat named Miles, a horse named Trigger, and our beloved dogs. Can you tell we love animals? Our love for puppies began when our oldest kids were four and two years old. We adopted a lovely Bichon female, and the kids adored her, spending countless hours playing with her. She soon had six puppies, and they brought us so much joy we began thinking about raising more. In no time, we were helping other families find the joy that comes with puppies.

As the years passed, we've grown fond of several breeds and focused on them. We’ve connected with some other great family breeders who follow our strict breeding standards. This allows us to give our loyal customers more quality pups, in addition to those from our family dogs. Our puppies start ENS Training after day two and continue until they are 16 days old. They are a big part of our family farm, and we focus on breeding high-quality Mini Bernedoodles. We team up with leading puppy delivery companies to safely bring your puppy to your doorstep in Leo-Cedarville, Indiana.

All of these precautions allow us to provide you with a one-year guarantee for your puppy. This guarantee ensures your dog’s health so that you can look forward to many years of companionship with your new pup. Some breeders offer longer guarantees but have a bunch of unrealistic stipulations that you have to follow before they honor that guarantee.

Most Mini bernedoodles in Leo-Cedarville, IN live to be around 12-18 years old.  Good nutrition and vet visits can help your dog live a full life.

Most Bernedoodles are great with children and elderly people. They are smaller in size compared to the larger Standard Bernedoodle, but they are active and will constantly want to play with the kids.

Yes and No! Most Mini Bernedoodles shed a little bit when they are puppies but very little when they get older. Poodle parent genetics cause them not to shed as much as other dogs.

The Mini Bernedoodle breed is considered hypoallergenic, but please note that no dog breed is 100 percent hypoallergenic. Mini Bernedoodles are a great choice for people who suffer from dog dander allergies. Regular baths and grooming can also reduce allergens.

Miniature Bernedoodles are very intelligent and typically easy to train.   Because of their intelligence, they can be slightly stubborn when they are young, so consistent training is the best option.

There are many factors that affect how big Mini Bernedoodles get, including the size of the pup’s parents.  We take this into consideration when estimating the future weight of puppies that are displayed in their individual description.  Genetics, Nutrition, and the amount of exercise a puppy gets also affect how much a puppy will weigh when he grows up.  Most of our F1 Mini Bernedoodles range from 18-22 inches tall to the top of their shoulders, and most range between 25-55 pounds as an adult.  If you’re looking for a small Mini Bernedoodle, ask us about the Micro Mini Bernedoodles we are starting to raise.  They will range between 12-25 pounds fully grown.

F1 Mini-Bernedoodle (This is considered a first-generation variation)

A Blue Diamond F1 Mini Bernedoodle is a first-generation cross between a registered genetically tested Bernese Mountain Dog and a registered genetically tested Miniature Poodle.  The F1 Variation is the most popular of all the variations because you can instill the strengths of both parent breeds.  The Puppies can either have curly or wavy hair and are hypoallergenic.  This variation is 50% Bernese Mountain Dog and 50% Miniature Poodle.

F1B Mini-Bernedoodle (This variation is considered a first-generation backcross):

A Blue Diamond F1B Mini Bernedoodle is a backcross variation between an F1 Mini Bernedoodle parent and a Miniature Poodle parent.  This variation has a higher percentage of poodle genetics, which leads to curlier coats, a little less shedding, and possibly more hypoallergenic.  This variation is 75% Poodle and 25% Bernese Mountain Dog.

F2 Mini Bernedoodle (This variation is considered a Second Generation):

A Blue Diamond F2 Bernedoodle is the result of breeding two F1 Mini Bernedoodles together.  This variation is 50% Bernese Mountain Dog and 50% Poodle, similar to the F1 generation.  But not the predictability.   With this variation, you get less predictability on how the puppy will look, its temperament, and its size.   Because of those factors, the F2 variation is the least popular variation in Mini Bernedoodles.

All Bernedoodles sizes are a designer mix breed between a combination of Bernese Mountain Dogs, Poodles, or double cross with a mini bernedoodle.    The big difference is how big they will get when they are fully grown.  Let’s go over them from Smallest to Largest.

Micro Mini Bernedoodles:  These are the smallest cross between a small Mini Bernedoodle dad and a Mini Poodle mom, resulting in a dog that will weigh between 12 and 25 pounds when fully grown.

Mini Bernedoodles: These are a medium-sized cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Miniature Poodle, resulting in a dog that will weigh between 25 and 55 pounds when fully grown.

Standard Bernedoodles: These are the largest cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a standard-size Poodle, resulting in a dog that will weigh around 80-90 pounds when fully grown.
