Independent yet intrigued by making new human friends, Dexter is a bit of an enigma! On his own he is patient, intuitive, and is happy to make your foot his newest snuggle buddy! He will lay at your feet with loyalty and give random kisses to your leg to remind you he’s there watching out for you, but will also be just as happy playing on his own if needed. However- Dexter is not a fan of being held- at least not by perfect strangers! He is so snuggly when things seem to be in his ‘control’ but turns into a stiff scaredy cat if you snuggle too much too soon! We know that he has a big heart that will continue to blossom with the encouragement and trust he builds with his forever humans! Because he can be a tad unsure about instant human affections- he may be best suited for older children or homes with no children at all so that patience and a solid routine without the expectation of cuddle time will help him thrive! Dexter is looking for a family who lives a mellow life in a home with lots of nooks and crannies to explore!
